David Hathaway concentrates his RI practice on consumer and commercial bankruptcy representations.
From 1987 to 1997, he was with the Bankruptcy Group of the national law firm Baker Hostetler in Cleveland, OH where he was elected partner in 1996. After inheriting the family farm in Exeter, RI in 1997, he relocated to RI and set up his bankruptcy practice in Warwick, RI. In 1998, he was appointed by the Department of Justice to serve as a Chapter 7 Trustee for the District of RI. He resigned that position in January 2003 and also closed his local RI practice to accept an appointment to the Professional Staff of the Enron Fee Committee in the Enron Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Case. With the recent completion of the Enron work, he has reestablished his RI bankruptcy practice.
Mr. Hathaway offers a free initial consultation, reasonable rates, evening and Saturday morning appointments, competent and responsive service, and a warm, non-pretentious disposition. He enjoys his bankruptcy work and the opportunities it has given him to meet a lot of fine people.
Since 1998, Mr. Hathaway has filed over 700 bankruptcy cases in RI. He lives in Exeter with his wife of 25 years and 12 children.
